How to Share Your Faith

Guys Talking 275 x 184Paul said in Philemon 6, "I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ."

Sharing our faith need not be scary.  If we have the cure for cancer, and we see people with cancer all around us, then it would be unloving of us not to share that cure with them.  Sharing our faith comes out of our love for people, our desire to see them set free from the ravages of sin.

There are helpful and unhelpful ways to share your faith, but the best way to learn how is to start doing it.  It's a lot like learning how to swim—classroom instruction is good, but it can only take you so far.  At some point, you have to jump in the water!  The above verse essentially says that the way to learn the Gospel is for us to be active in sharing it.

Your Testimony

One of the most important ways you can share your faith is to share your testimony, which is simply an account of how Jesus has changed your life.  Every true believer has a testimony, because every true believer has been radically changed by Jesus.  If you don't have a testimony, then you are not a true believer.  If you are in Christ, then take courage—you have a story to tell!

If you want to learn how to develop your testimony well, use the Testimony Worksheet below to submit your testimony, and a pastor can help you "sharpen" it.
