Dear Church Family,
In these difficult times, the Scripture that continues to run through my mind is from 2 Timothy 1;7 "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." We belong to the all-powerful, sovereign Creator of the Universe. We can trust Him to do what is best for His glory and our good in this pandemic. I so wish I could see you all but I am confident our reunion when this time of isolation ends will be so sweet!
Good Friday Service
This year we will Livestream our annual Good Friday service. Please join us on Friday, April 10, at 6:30pm as we observe this important day in the Christian year by worshiping and honoring our Lord. Join us on our Facebook page
or go to www.covenantpalmbay.org/live
Prayer and Fasting
Our Elders are calling for us as a church family to observe Good Friday as a day of prayer and fasting. We will join Christians across the nation who are members of the Presbyterian Church in America, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church or the Anglican Church of North America in a day of unified prayer and fasting. We will send a separate email this week with instructions on how to observe this day of prayer and fasting.
Consider sending the above link to a friend to join you online. In general, we encourage you pray for your lost friends and to use this opportunity to leverage online technology to reach out to them and include them in redemptive conversations as much as you can.
Let's continue to pray for people who have lost jobs or who have lost income due to this crisis. There are several people in our own church who have already been severely affected. If you or someone you know needs some financial support for groceries, utilities, or similar ongoing expenses, consider using the Mercy Fund. Have them send an email to email@example.com
to initiate the request for help. If you are in a position to help others financially, consider giving a little extra to the Mercy Fund (covenantpalmbay.org/give

Palm Sunday begins our journey into Holy Week. In a sense, it is the climax of the entire Christian Year, for through the unfolding events of this week, death will be defeated, redemption will be accomplished, and we will begin to experience the reality of all things new. Yet, it all begins with the slow pace of a colt and a weeping Jesus riding into the city, riding on to redeem.
Our Worship Resource
includes all the worship song lyrics and daily Bible readings. Join us for Palm Sunday online at 10:30am.

March 12, 2020 | 4:00pm Email
Dear Covenant Family,
Given all that is taking place with the coronavirus, we want to let you know the preventative measures Covenant is taking to reduce the spread of the virus. We are monitoring the situation, and we are consulting with other churches and organizations to follow best practices in taking precaution. At this moment, we currently do not have any plans to change or cancel any of our discipleship activities or events on campus.
As we continue to monitor the situation carefully, we will keep you updated.
Currently, we are taking the following steps to protect our church body:
We are increasing disinfecting measures through our custodial team. In addition to the normal cleaning routines, before and after Sunday worship and Wednesday night discipleship activities, our custodial team is spraying common surfaces with special chemicals to provide a safer environment. Throughout the school day, janitors are consistently wiping common surfaces such as doorknobs and counter tops with disinfectant.
We seek to have hand sanitizer available throughout our buildings and as supplies become available we will put them in place. Please use it before and after the event you attend.
We are modifying certain communal activities such as the offering and the Lords Supper.
For the foreseeable future the offering plates will not be passed. Instead, we will have ushers at the foyer doors with plates so you can drop-off your offering and communication cards on your way home. If you are not already doing so, this is a good time to establish online giving by going to www.covenantpalmbay.org/give.
We are changing our Lords Supper procedures. We will purchase pre-sealed elements and establish serving stations rather than pass the elements down the aisle.
If the spread of the virus continues to escalate in Florida, we will take additional steps as necessary.
For the time being, when it comes to greeting each other in and out of service, we are encouraging our congregation to wave, elbow bump, share your best 70's style peace sign, or embrace the aloha spirit and sport the "hang loose". This will help remove the pressure of having to shake hands and continue to promote healthy hygiene. Please feel comfortable to reject a handshake, hug, high five, etc. And please, respond to one another's personal feelings on the matter and accept their rejection with gentleness and respect.
If you contract the coronavirus, will you please contact the Covenant leadership to let us know? We promise to keep your case confidential. We simply want to be able to support you and minister to you in your time of difficulty, and to be aware overall of how the coronavirus is affecting our church in particular.
We also want our Covenant family to know what you can do to decrease the likelihood that you will be exposed to or spread the coronavirus. Please follow these guidelines to help increase the safety of our church:
For more information on the coronavirus, see:
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Coronavirus Disease 2019
World Health Organization: Coronavirus Disease outbreak
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Healthcare workers and international travelers are at a higher risk of exposure. If you fall into either category, please exercise precaution ahead of participating in Covenant worship services and mid-week events.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Stay home when you are sick and worship with us online at www.covenantpalmbay.org/live . We would also encourage our most “at-risk” members, our elderly and immuno-compromised brothers and sisters, to take advantage of our online worship.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
Follow the CDC’s recommendations for using a face mask:
The CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
Face masks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of face masks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
Times like this remind us that sin has affected this world, and that we truly do need the salvation only offered in Christ. It helps us to look forward to a recreated and redeemed world where pain, death, and sickness are no more (Rev. 21:4). These are also times of great opportunity to show the world our confidence in God’s sovereignty. Historically, Christians have not given-in to hysteria and fear but stepped up their service to others being affected by plague and disease. Let us use this season as an opportunity to share this good news of Jesus as we talk about these current events with family and friends and serve those in need.
Finally, let’s be in prayer for those who have been affected by the coronavirus. May God comfort them, and may he soon bring the spread of this illness to an end.
We will continue to update you on this page and our Facebook page
as updates develop.
